date days.

We are in California. And it is so lovely. On so many levels. One being that the weather is phenomenal like it always is and I keep having this feeling in the back of my mind that we are going home to winter. Because usually we are here in January and it’s 75 and sunny. And then we go home to 20 and freezing. So it’s really quite lovely to realize that it’s August.

So lots of levels of lovely that I might get to later. But oh my goodness. Date days. My parents live in San Luis Obispo and my brother has a tandem bicycle. This is such a wonderful combination.

Wes and I hop on the bike, wave goodbye to the little darlings, and head into town while I sing at the top of my lungs, ‘I’m free as a bird! Happy as a lark!’. Not really but I kinda feel that way.

We’ve biked to coffee while the parents trailed behind with the kids in the stroller. We’ve been to lunch on the creek at Novo, we’ve been to U Relax (such bliss), we’ve been to Firestone Grill and met up with Davey and Jennifer.

And it’s only Tuesday!

Thank you parents for making this possible. I once again feel like the lady in the red dress emoticon.

Woot woot.

About A Story of Us

My grandparents 57th wedding anniversary and my first wedding anniversary motivated to journal the adventures life brought our way . I hope to amuse the friends and family I have all over the country and, when I am my grandmothers age, look back at what I have written and chuckle. It's been four years since I began and the snickers I bring myself as I look back propel me to write on. Cheers to the future and happy memories of the past.

Hooray for Dates! That feeling of FREEDOM is amazing, and then the feeling of holding those babies again is so GOOD when you return to them. Have a lovely rest of your trip!
