home is wherever i’m with you.

Everyone know the song? I’ve been singing it.

Oh little Daffodil house.

IMG_3574Remember I said our house was going off with a bang? Well bang it went. After four days on the market we had a contract on it. It was rather bewildering. We’ve never sold a house, we had kinda just put it on the market on a whim and then the realtors were over and after hours of discussion, showed us where to sign. And we were looking at each other like, ok, do we want to do this?

So papers are signed and now I’m living on this fine line between adventure, contentment and oblivion. To make peace with the fact that you’re leaving your darling starter home, you have to look forward to the unknown with great adventure and kinda put the past in the past. And forget about my precious patio and dear flowers. So then you get ramped up on adventure. But then you need to remind yourself that the whole deal could fall through so you give yourself a dose of contentment and say, I love my house and I don’t need adventure to be happy.

Which then confuses you. So I’ve moved on to oblivion and just don’t think about it. We’re waiting on the appraiser to come which is, I think, the last step where everything could fall through. When we get the green light then I’ll start back on adventure and packing.

We have no set plan in place which kinda makes me nervous. (If anyone wants to store my piano, couch, whatever just holler). Closing date is May 28th and I probably will be taking you up on holding Ev while I madly throw boxes around.

Until then, we plan on flying off to Texas for my cousin’s wedding where we will celebrate and see a delightful amount of family.

Evelyn has reached the six month mark and is just the cutest thing ever. I probably should devote a new post about how precious she is. But for now, I’ll leave you with a picture and love and hugs.IMG_3631Gah. Adorable.

About A Story of Us

My grandparents 57th wedding anniversary and my first wedding anniversary motivated to journal the adventures life brought our way . I hope to amuse the friends and family I have all over the country and, when I am my grandmothers age, look back at what I have written and chuckle. It's been four years since I began and the snickers I bring myself as I look back propel me to write on. Cheers to the future and happy memories of the past.

Well Kels, as one who has moved a few times and again as recently as yesterday, one thing I’ve learned is a home is no longer a home without loved ones and things in it. Thank goodness for memories! I’m sure you will have another amazing patio! Wish I could come hold the baby or help pack or off load some of these boxes on you that are sitting on my basketball court!
